On the 26 th of February in 2010, their album Tourist History was released. This debut album as mixed at the Motorbass, Zdar's studios that is in Paris with Phillipe Zdar. At the Eastcote Studios located in London, the band began to record its debut album in July 2009 along with Eliot James. This EP resulted in getting a lot of attention on various websites.
In January 2009, they released an EP called Four Words to Stand On. There was a lot of interest of fans on their social network page which further led the band to focus entirely on creating new material for their new band. Finally the Two Door Cinema Club was created. When their first project did not go too well, they initiated in forming another band in which they did not include a constant drummer. Two of these demos can still be seen on their MySpace page, where as the third demo is on YouTube. As Life without Rory, the three managed to record a total of three demos prior to breaking up. Their band name was Life without Rory, at that time. When they were just sixteen years old, the three talented musicians performed together on the known ATL Rock School. Halliday and Trimble came across each other when they were both in the same school, the Bangor Grammar School. The formation of Two Door Cinema Club is quite interesting. On the 3 rd of September in 2012, their second album, Beacon came out and was seen being slotted at the first position on the celebrated Irish Albums Chart. The album was then chosen for the famous Choice Music Prize in 2010 for in the category of Irish Album of the Year. Their debut album was released on the 27 th of April in 2010 in the United States. The band is signed to the esteemed Glassnote Records in the United States of America. The album came out on a French independent label company called Kitsune Music Records.
